Healthy lifestyle
A healthy lifestyle has always interested me. My long-term interest in a healthy lifestyle has led me to conclude that everything in moderation is beneficial for us. That's why I don't completely eliminate sugar, meat, or dairy products, but instead limit or replace them with healthier versions. But I definitely oppose processed foods filled with chemicals, chocolate bars purchased from stores, cakes, and cookies. I won't give them to my daughter. Unfortunately, fresh vegetables also contain chemicals, not just chocolate purchased from stores.
Harmful vegetables and fruits?
It has been proven that it is filled with harmful substances, preservatives, and insecticides ("pesticide residues in fruits and vegetable crops in the central and eastern regions", "pesticide residues in agricultural products in southeastern Poland", "pesticide residue occurrence and evaluation of small agricultural crops consumed in southeastern Poland in 2013-2014"). We also consume it on vegetables and fruits (although these amounts do not outweigh the benefits of eating vegetables and fruits). It has been loudly discussed, and each of you must have heard of it. But does this mean we should stop buying vegetables and fruits? Of course not, we need nutrients from vegetables and fruits.
So how to check the quality of vegetables and fruits? Should we believe that the beautiful radishes on the market are natural and have not been sprayed with anything? Are biological and ecological products in stores really healthier than other products? Such questions often come to my mind (especially when you become a parent), as if only laboratory tests can answer them. However, it has been proven that devices that can help us have begun to appear in the market. These are so-called food testers. When I discovered their existence, I knew I had to get them. On the Internet, you will find many places where you can purchase such devices. I have decided to share my views on them with you. Perhaps some of you will find them very useful.
What is Greentest ECO Food Tester?
Greentest ECO is a small mobile phone sized device equipped with a touch screen and probe. As we can see on the website: "Greentest ECO tests fruits and vegetables by measuring the nitrate content of the product. By determining this value, we can understand how many harmful chemicals are present in the product we purchase. The device evaluates the quality of the tested product by informing us whether it is recommended to consume a specific product. In addition, we can inspect raw meat, so we understand its quality and any substances that may be added before sale.
Greentest ECO can also check the radiation levels of all foods (fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, seafood) and objects in our environment. All of this is thanks to the built-in Geiger counter.
This device is lightweight, convenient, and easy to operate. Find the product in the selection list, insert the probe into the food, and then press' Start '. After a few seconds, we received the result. If it meets the standards, it will be green; If the nitrate content exceeds the standard, it will display in red.
What do the results obtained from the Green Food Treasure ECO tester tell us?
The tester determines the nitrate content of the product. If it is normal, we can assume that the product has not undergone too much chemical treatment. High concentrations of nitrate are closely related to extensive fertilization, so if most samples exceed the standard, it is best to give up purchasing. The results obtained from the device enable us to decide where to purchase a given product.
